Warranty Registration
We at Gear Shift Auto Parts, focus on the quality and reliability of our products. Hence we offer warranty. This warranty not only covers the shortcomings ( if there are any ) in the materials and workmanship. So, to get familiar with the warranty, read all the terms and conditions carefully to understand the scope of your warranty coverage.
To avail your warranty make sure to contact us through the provided email address within 30 days of receiving your auto parts.
Terms and Conditions
By purchasing from us, you agree upon the following legally binding terms and conditions of our warranty:
- Notification before Repair: if repairing or removing any component on your own crosses your mind (in case you are not a professional mechanic yourself). Contact us on immediate basis as, failure to do so might void your warranty
- Original Purchaser: The claim of warranty can only be made by the original purchaser, whose name has been mentioned on the receipt of payment of used auto part. Otherwise it is non-refundable.
- Documents Required: you must provide original installation receipts of the auto part that has been purchased from us, if you wish to process any warranty claim.
We are committed to address all the concerns fairly and promptly. So, the satisfaction of our customers is our priority.
Coverage Details
Duration
Our warranty coverage lasts for 20,000 mile or 2 years, whichever comes first. Duration may vary according to the product type.
- Gas Engine: 24 months from the date of purchase or 20,000 miles from the odometer reading, when the engine gets installed. Whichever occur first
- Diesel and Truck Engines: 24 months from the date of purchase or 20,000 miles from the odometer reading, when the engine gets installed. Whichever occur first
- Transmissions: 24 months from the date of purchase or 20,000 miles from the odometer reading, when the engine gets installed. Whichever occur first
Covered Components
Engine Coverage:
The following components of gasoline or diesel engines are covered:
- Pistons and pins
- Crankshaft and main bearings
- Connecting rods and rod bearings
- Camshaft and camshaft bearings
- Intake and exhaust valves
- Valve springs
- Oil pump
- Push rods
- Rocker arms
- Hydraulic lifters
- Rocker arm shafts
- Engine block and cylinder heads (only if damaged by a covered component)
Transmission Coverage:
The following components of automatic or manual transmissions are covered:
- Torque Converter
- Oil pump
- Governor
- Drums
- Planetaries
- Sun Gear & Shell
- Sprags
- Shafts
- Bearings
- Shift Rails
- Forks
- Synchronizers
Seals and Gaskets: Seals and gaskets are covered only if they are part of the repair or replacement of a covered component. Leaking gaskets or seals are not covered separately.
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover the following:
- Labor charges for any reason
- Damage resulting from abuse, misuse, commercial use, or industrial use
- Damage caused by improper installation
- Damage due to modification of the product
- Failures resulting from faulty or incompatible parts and accessories
- Damage resulting from abnormal use or operation
- Use of the item for racing purposes
- Operation of the item without proper lubrication or cooling, regardless of the reason
- External Switches and Sensors are not covered for transmissions
Limitations of Liability
Gear Shift Auto Parts’ liability is limited solely to supplying a replacement engine or transmission, if available, or refunding the purchase price. We are not liable for:
- Labor costs
- Replacement of oil or antifreeze
- Damage to other parts or components
- Towing charges
- Telephone calls
- Freight costs
- Lost profits
- Lost time
- Substitute transportation or replacement vehicle
- Any other consequential damages
Odometer Readings
We at Gear Shift Auto Parts, specialize in selling used engines and transmissions, and not complete vehicles. Exact odometer readings for these components are not always verifiable. While we make every effort from our end to provide accurate mileage estimates based on available data and vehicle history, please note that these are approximations and not guaranteed odometer readings. Moreover, we strongly oppose any tampering and remain committed to transparency in all our operations.
Claim Procedures
In the event of a potential warranty claim, please follow these steps:
- Contact Us: Contact us before any sort of removals or repairs are performed.
- Provide Documentation: Make sure to email all of these documents on our official website. The list of documents includes:
- Original purchase invoice
- Installation receipt from an ASE-certified mechanic
- Repair receipts (if applicable)
- Photos of the odometer reading at the time of installation and at the time of the claim
- Return the Part: If required, return the part to the location it was shipped from. Prior to that, make sure that the part is available for pickup within 7 working days of notification.
- Inspection and Resolution: Our engineers will inspect the returned part and then determine the cause of the failure. Then, accordingly we will decide whether to repair the component, replace it with a similar part, or, if a replacement is unavailable, refund the purchase price.
Important Notes
- The transmission or engine must be installed by an ASE Certified Automotive facility.
- A new thermostat and timing belt must be installed at the time of engine installation.
- For transmissions, the transmission cooler, front and rear gaskets, and seals must be replaced during installation.
- If the shipping address requires special services (e.g., liftgate, residential delivery), the customer is responsible for those additional costs.
- Gear Shift Auto Parts reserves the right to refund the original purchase price at any time.
Returns and Replacements
- Warranty Replacements: In case you are eligible for the replacement of any part, then in that case that part should be available for pickup and any sort of failure automatically voids the warranty.
- Returned Parts (Not Installed): If you wish to return a part before shipping, installing, or receiving it, you are responsible for all cost of shipping along with a 35% restocking fee. Whereas, if your mind changes after the shipping of auto part, in that case, you will be charged 50%. Out of this 25% is the handling, labor and transportation cost. Whereas, 25% is restocking fees.
Administrator’s Rights
Gear Shift Auto Parts reserves the right to terminate warranty benefits upon discovery of fraud or misrepresentation of a material fact.
Governing Law
In case any dispute arises between us, related to the auto part sold from our end. Then, it shall be governed by and interpreted according to the laws of the State of California. Any legal action or proceeding related to your purchase must be filed in a court of competent jurisdiction located in California. We are committed to providing high quality used auto parts along with exceptional customer service.
