Return & Replacement Policy – Gearshift Auto Parts
At Gearshift Auto Parts, we aim to provide high-quality used auto parts and a clear, fair, and enforceable return and replacement experience for our customers. Please read this policy carefully before initiating a return or replacement.
1. Eligibility for Returns
To be eligible for a return:
- The part must be unused, uninstalled, unmodified, and in original, resalable condition.
- All original packaging, accessories, manuals, hardware, and documentation must be included.
- A return must be requested within 30 days of delivery.
- All authorized returns must be unused and in their original condition, including all items and components that were included in the original package. Items being returned must not have been disassembled, mounted, modified, or damaged due to incorrect installation or user error.
- If your shipment arrived with a damaged or incorrect item, please repackage the item(s) in the original shipping container.
- Upon receiving your order, inspect all packages thoroughly for missing, damaged, or incorrect parts. If you receive missing, damaged, or incorrect parts, please call us immediately (within 3 days from delivery) so we can assist you in processing a return for replacement or refund. We are not responsible for missing, damaged, or incorrect parts after 30 calendar days for all products, regardless of the party at fault.
Parts that have been installed, used, tampered with, altered, disassembled, damaged, or improperly handled are not eligible for return and will be refused or returned at the buyer’s expense.
2. Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot be returned, refunded, or replaced under any circumstances:
- Any part that has been installed or used after delivery.
- Parts that have been modified, disassembled, or altered.
- Special-order or custom parts not regularly stocked.
- Parts damaged due to improper installation, misuse, or neglect.
- Please review product details carefully before purchase to avoid ordering non-returnable parts.
3. Return Authorization & Buyer Responsibility
Prior written approval is required for all returns and warranty claims. Gearshift Auto Parts does not generate RMA numbers, provide return labels, or coordinate return shipping. The buyer is solely responsible for arranging, paying for, and ensuring safe return of the item. Unauthorized returns will be refused or discarded without refund.
- Refunds are normally processed and credited within 48 business hours after we receive your part(s). Once the returned part(s) has/have been inspected and processed, the refund will be credited to the payment method you used to buy the item(s) you ordered. You will receive a “credit approved” e-mail the day your refund is processed. If the purchase was made with a debit or credit card, it may take an additional 1-7 business day(s) for your financial institution to reflect the credit back on your account.
- In the event that any core part or any purchased part returned to us is not properly drained or cleaned, a charge of $25 will be deducted from the refund amount.
- In the event that a part is faulty or not functioning as claimed by you, Gearshift Auto Parts may request a mechanical report detailing the reasons, causes, or specific parts preventing proper operation. Failure to provide such a report will be considered a violation of company policy, as the authenticity of the claim cannot be validated without it. Consequently, Gearshift Auto Parts reserves the right to determine the appropriate course of action, given your non-compliance with the basic requirements outlined in Gearshift Auto Parts terms and conditions.
4. Return Shipping & Fees
- Return shipping costs are the sole responsibility of the buyer in all circumstances.
- Use a trackable shipping method; we are not responsible for packages lost in transit.
- A 25% restocking fee will be deducted from the refund for all approved returns.
- If you change your mind after the part has shipped, the return will still incur the restocking fee.
- Return shipping includes freight, pickup, packaging, insurance, and any related logistics costs.
5. Warranty Replacements
If your part is approved for a warranty replacement:
- The original part must be available for pickup and inspection by our designated carrier.
- Failure to make the part available, tampering, or disposal of the part will void the warranty.
- Replacement parts will only be provided after inspection confirms eligibility.

6. Defective or Incorrect Parts
If you receive a defective or incorrect part:
- Contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
- We will issue instructions for return.
- Once the item is returned and verified, we will ship a replacement or issue a refund if a replacement is unavailable. (excluding the shipping and freight expenses)
7. Order Cancellations
- Orders cannot be canceled after they have been shipped.
- If cancellation is requested before order processing, we may accommodate it at our discretion.
- Canceled orders prior to shipment will be subject to administrative fees.
